ZD Jasper files demo plans at HY site where they are in contract to purchase from Extell

Tom Wu’s ZD Jasper Realty, on January 27, filed two permit applications for the demolition of two buildings at 429 West 36th Street and 430 West 37th Street in Hudson Yards. Tom Wu, founder of the firm, filed the plans.

According to the developer, they are currently in contract to purchase the development site from Extell Development. They are currently deciding what to do with the site moving forward.

ZD Jasper actively builds in both New York City and China. Their portfolio includes mixed-use, residential, and commercial projects.

ZD Jasper purchased another Hudson Yards site on the same city block just to the west, from Craig Policastro for $15 million earlier this month. That building and the new site are separated by a 25-foot building owned by a third party, according to city records.

Extell had previously been planning to construct a large mixed-use development at the site. Renderings for the proposed project were released in 2018.

The first plans call for the demolition of a two-story building at 429 West 36th Street.

The project is described in the filings as: hereby filing application for a full demolition of existing two-story structure.
