Tejpal Sandhu files plans for 23K sf shelter in Parkchester
Tejpal Sandhu through the company Liberty Tuck NY LLC, on January 27, filed a permit application for construction of a 23,452-square-foot community building at 2443 Poplar Street in Parkchester, the Bronx. The building will be used as both a health care center and homeless shelter.
The plan call for the construction of a 35-foot-tall, three-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00658434. The development site spans one tax lot.
The project is described in the filing as: this application is filed for new three-story building for community facility use (use group 3, 4).
Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have health care space, a lobby, and an office. Floors two and three will each have homeless shelter dorms and health care space. The cellar will have additional homeless shelter dorms.

The property was acquired for $2.6 million on June 25, 2021.
