Zara Realty permitted for 223-unit mixed-use building in Jamaica
Zara Realty, on September 28, was given a permit for construction of a 223-unit, 157,265-square-foot mixed-use building at 153-10 88th Avenue in Jamaica. The permits issued were foundation permits.
The plans were one of 86 new building plans filed in Jamaica last year. Meanwhile, there have been 38 new building plans filed in the neighborhood this year. The plans called for the construction of the second most dwelling units in the neighborhood last year.
The plans, pre-filed on November 13, 2020, call for the construction of a 95-foot tall, nine-story mixed-use building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith nine-story mixed-use building as per plans.
The ground floor will have parking, seven dwelling units, an exercise room, lounge, residential lobby, and community facility space. Floors two through seven will each have 30 dwelling units per floor, the eighth floor will have 20 dwelling units, and the ninth floor will have 16 dwelling units and recreational space. The roof will have additional recreation space. The cellar will have additional parking space, a pet wash, lockers, office, and break room. The building will also have recreation space located outside.
