Yitzchok Katz files plans for 70K sf mixed-use building in Astoria
Yitzchok Katz through the company Developing NY State LLC, on October 15, filed a permit application for construction of a 58-unit, 70,118-square-foot mixed-use building at 26-41 3rd Street in Astoria.
The plans call for the construction of a 75-foot tall, seven-story mixed-use building.
The project is described in the filings as: proposed seven-story mixed-use building.
The cellar of the building will be used as a parking garage with spaces for 29 cars, storage, laundry, and a 963-square-foot recreation space, according to the plans. The ground floor will have retail space, a house of worship, lobby, and storage space. The first floor mezzanine will have office space in conjunction with the ground floor retail. The second floor will have assembly space and study rooms in conjunction with the house of worship. The third floor will have additional study rooms for the house of worship, nine dwelling units, and a 1,346-square-foot recreation space. The fourth floor will have 16 dwelling units, the fifth floor will have 14 dwelling units, the sixth floor will have 11 dwelling units, and the seventh floor will have eight dwelling units.
Naresh Mahangu of NY Building Associates Inc is listed as the architect.
Demolition plans have not yet been filed for the single-story building on the property.
In April of this year the developer originally filed plans for the new building, however those plans were only partially approved.
The property was acquired for $8.95 million on September 10, 2019.
