Shopping center exec plans $4.9M rehab at 10 Gracie Square co-op

William Taubman, on December 10, filed a permit application for a $4.9 million rehabilitation of two units of a residential cooperative building at 10 Gracie Square in Yorkville. Gracie Square River Corp. is the owner entity of the building.

William Taubman is the COO of Taubman Centers, Inc., a real estate investment trust company which owns, manages and/or leases 26 regional, super-regional and outlet shopping malls in the U.S. and Asia.

The plans call for a rehab of co-op units 9B and 10B of the 165-foot tall, 15-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: interior renovation of apartments 9b and 10b. No change of use, egress, or occupancy under this application. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,900,000.
