Aurora, William Gottlieb, permitted for 16-unit resi building with retail in West Village
Aurora Capital Associates and William Gottlieb Real Estate, on May 24, were given a permit for construction of a 16-unit, 24,806-square-foot mixed-use building at 144 Barrow Street in the West Village. Matthew Abreu of Aurora filed the plans.
Both new building and foundation permits were issued.
The plans, pre-filed on April 24, 2020, call for the construction of a 77-foot tall, seven-story, mixed-use building.
The project is described in the filings as: a new seven-story building.
According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have retail space, a residential lobby, and one dwelling unit. The second floor will have two dwelling units, amenity space, and recreation space. Floors three through six will each have three dwelling units per floor, while the seventh floor will have one dwelling unit with a private terrace. The cellar will have a child’s room and an exercise room.
BKSK Architects LLP is the architect listed on the filing.
The developer had originally filed plans in 2016 for the construction of a residential-hotel mixed-use building on the site. While the plans are still active, they were never permitted.
