Toll Brothers file plans for demo of three UWS buildings ahead of 73-unit resi tower
Toll Brothers, on July 7, filed three permit applications to demolish 2686-2690 Broadway in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Joseph Clark, director at the firm, filed the plans.
The properties were acquired for $44 million on August 5, 2019.
Last year the developer filed plans for the construction of a 145-foot tall, 13-story, 73-unit, 91,763-square-foot residential building at 2686 Broadway. The building will have retail space and the residencies will be condominiums.
The development is one of three new buildings planned in the neighborhood within the last two years that is greater than 20,000 square feet in size. The other plans are Extell’s plans for a 235-foot tall, 23-story, 276,578-square-foot building with 131 dwelling units at 2551 Broadway and Welltower, Inc. and Hines joint venture for a 230-foot tall, 19-story, 108,000-square-foot building with 162 dwelling units at 2330 Broadway.
The first demo plans call for the demolition of a one-story building at 2690 Broadway.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of remaining one-story structure, using hand held and mechanical means to assist.
