Tishman Speyer finishes $10.5M multi-floor rehab of penthouse, 42nd floor at 520 Madison Ave
Tishman Speyer, on August 6, formally completed a $10.5 million rehabilitation of the penthouse and 42nd floor at the office building 520 Madison Avenue in the Plaza District.
The renovation is part of a series of 2017 plans that were filed by the developer to transform the 43rd floor into a 21,000-square-foot penthouse with a 2,200-square-foot terrace and views of Central Park. Reports estimated the total cost of the penthouse renovations would be $35 million.
The plans, pre-filed on July 28, 2016, call for a rehab of the 42nd floor and 43rd-floor penthouse, as well as the roof of the 577-foot tall, 43-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: removal and installation of non-load-bearing partitions, doors, frames, ceiling, related finishes, extension of stair and modifications to setback. No change in use, egress or occupancy under this application. Filed in conjunction with alt#122434302. 43rd floor terrace is proposed as passive recreation use as per bb 2018-002 The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $10.49 million.
In June, Tishman completed a $6 million project on the floor.
