Thorobird Companies permitted for 216K sf mixed-use building in Ocean Hill
Thorobird Companies, on December 16, was given a permit for construction of a 236-unit, 216,215-square-foot mixed-use building at 1911 Atlantic Avenue in Ocean Hill, Brooklyn. The permit issued was a plumbing permit, the initial foundation and new building permits were issued in September.
The plans, pre-filed on April 3, 2019, call for the construction of a 144-foot tall, 14-story mixed-use building.
The project is described in the filings as: propose new 14-story mixed-use building. Obtain new certificate of occupancy.
The ground floor of the development will have commercial retail space, a non-commercial art gallery, lobby, and nonprofit institution. The second floor will have an exercise room, recreation room, and 25 dwelling units. Floors three through six will each have 28 dwelling units per floor, floors seven through nine will each have 15 dwelling units per floor, floors 10 and 11 will each have 12 dwelling units, and floors 12 through 14 will each have 10 dwelling units per floor. The roof will have a two-level recreation space.
David Gross of GF55 Partners is listed as the architect.
Demolition plans were filed in November of 2018. The demolition was completed in June of 2019.
