Rebekah Rehab center receives TCO following construction of 56-unit building in Parkchester

The Rebekah Rehab and Extended Care Center, on July 16, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 56-unit, 48,614-square-foot residential building at 1118 Havemeyer Avenue in Parkchester.

The plans, pre-filed on October 17, 2017, call for the construction of a 38-foot tall, 4-story, residential building. The plans were permitted on December 29, 2017.

The project is described in the filings as: hereby filing new four-story affordable independent residence for seniors as shown on drawings filed herewith.

The cellar of the building is split between a dining area, kitchen, and storage space, according to the plans. The ground floor has a lobby, mail room, laundry room, wellness center, recreation rooms, management office, and 12 apartments. The second floor has a lounge, wellness center, laundry room, and 16 apartments. The third floor has a lounge, wellness center, laundry room, and 15 apartments. The fourth floor has a lounge, wellness center, laundry room, and 13 apartments.

Geddis Architects was be responsible for the design of the building.

The site had previously been occupied by a vacant two-story structure for several years.
