The Met files plans for $18.2M project in Central Park

Metropolitan Museum of Art, on October 19, filed plans for a $18.2M rehabilitation project of several floors at 1000 5th Avenue in Central Park, Manhattan.

There have been a total of six alteration plans filed at the building so far this year. These plans are easily the most expensive, and the only plans with an initial cost of more than $1 million.

The plans call for work on floors one through three of the 80-foot-tall, six-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00550793.

The project is described in the filing as: AAOA – replacement of glazing, repairs to coping and facade, interior partitions and finishes as per plans filed herewith. No change in use, egress or occupancy.

The architect listed is Beyer Blinder Belle.
