Davis Companies files plans for a 135K sf storage building at newly purchased Chelsea property

The Davis Companies, on July 9, filed a permit application for construction of a 135,003-square-foot storage building at 155 West 29th Street in Chelsea.

Boston-based Davis Companies paid the Garfinkel family $26 million for 165 West 29th Street and 155 West 29th Street in March 2020. The transaction consisted of two parcels, including the tax class miscellaneous loft (L9).

The development plans call for the construction of a 223-foot tall, 17-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: application filed for the construction of new 17-story self-storage facility.

According to the plans, the basement and all floors of the building will be used for storage.

The architect for the project is Mancini Duffy.
