Aurora Capital permitted for 121-unit building in Brooklyn Heights

Aurora Capital Associates, on October 5, was given a permit for construction of a 121-unit, 110,000-square-foot mixed-use building at 200 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights. The building has an alternate address of 192 Montague Street.

The plans, pre-filed on April 1, 2019, call for the construction of a 215-foot tall, 20-story mixed-use building. The owner representative on the filing was Matthew Abreau of Aurora.

Bobby Cayre’s father Stanley Cayre was the signatory in 2007 for the purchase of the building for $25 million from HSBC. Bobby Cayre, who leads Aurora, was the signatory on a zoning lot description filed last year.

The project is described in the filings as: new 20-story building. The plumbing permit (PL) received on Monday was issued approximately four months after the developer received its initial foundation (FO) permits, in June.

The plans indicate the building’s sub-cellar will have several amenities, including a fitness room, lounge, laundry room, and children’s play room. The cellar will have storage and retail space. The ground floor will have additional storage and retail space, as well as a residential lobby and mailroom. Floors two through 14 will each have seven dwelling units per floor, while floors 15 through 20 will each have five dwelling units per floor. The units on floors two and 15 will have private terraces. The roof will also have a terrace available to tenants.

Beyer Blinder Belle is listed as the architect.

Demolition plans were filed in January of 2019 and marked as completed this past June.

Excavation on the project started in July and reports indicated a completion date had not been announced.
