Avi Matatov plans 119-unit mixed-use building in Kew Gardens Hills
Avi Matatov under the VP Capital Holdings LLC is planning to construct a 119-unit mixed-use building at 77-39 Vleigh Place Avenue in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens.
The plans were disclosed in an application requesting a Zoning Map amendment and Zoning Text amendment to facilitate the development of a seven-story mixed-use building. According to the filing, the building would have approximately 43,608-square-feet of commercial space and 10,433-square-feet of community facility space. Of the 119 residential units, 25 to 30 percent would be permanently affordable.
The environmental assessment statement was filed on October 1, the same day that the CEQR fee was paid by the applicant.
The property is currently vacant, as emergency demolition plans were filed for the single-story building that had occupied the property following a fire in early 2017. The demolition was marked as completed on March 28, 2018.
The developer acquired the property for $6.5 million on July 10, 2018.
No new building plans have been filed with the NYC Department of Buildings yet.
