TF Cornerstone files to demolish 326K sf Hunters Point building, to make way for resi towers
The Elghanayan family’s TF Cornerstone, on September 16, filed a permit application for the demolition of a 326,000-square-foot commercial building at 55-01 2nd Street in Long Island City, Queens.
The project is described in the filings as: demolition of entire building.
The 43-foot tall, three-story mercantile building occupies a portion of an eight-acre property that the firm purchased for $300 million in 2018.
The development site can hold four, 400-foot-tall towers with more than 2,000 rental apartments. It is just south of Amazon’s Long Island City development, which TF Cornerstone is also behind.
No new building plans have been filed yet at the property.
