Spence School gets TCO for 53K sf building in Yorkville

The Spence School, on January 15, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 53,716-square-foot school building at 412 East 90th Street in Yorkville.

The plans, pre-filed on December 7, 2016, call for the construction of a 85-foot tall, six-story, building. The time from pre-file to TCO was four years and one month.

No project description was provided in the filing.

The ground floor of the building has offices, storage space, and the lower level of a gym, per the plans. The second floor has the upper level of the gym. The third floor has a cafe, offices, lockers, laundry, and squash quarts. The fourth floor has more squash quarts and locker rooms. The fifth floor has an exercise room, while the sixth floor has a lab, classroom space, greenhouse, office, kitchen, and terrace.

Rogers Partners is listed as the architect.

The property was acquired for $26.1 million on September 16, 2011.
