DASNY finishes $4M rehab of Hostos Community College building in Mott Haven

Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, on January 15, formally completed a $4 million rehabilitation of a Hostos Community College building at 500 Grand Concourse in Mott Haven.

The plans, pre-filed on May 5, 2016, call for a rehab of floors one through five of the 65-foot tall, seven-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: interior renovations and window replacement as shown on drawings filed herewith. No change in use, egress or occupancy. PAA to add mastic and intumescent fire resistant coatings’ special inspection to the required items list. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,000,000.

The 120,000-square-foot building is comprised of classrooms, lab space, a clinical care teaching facility, and offices for the faculty and administrative staff.

The LiRo Group is listed as the architect.
