Tankhouse files plans for 36K sf resi building at recently purchased Dumbo parcel

Tankhouse, on December 29, filed a permit application for construction of a 27-unit, 36,191-square-foot residential building at 219 Jay Street in Dumbo.

The developer purchased the property for $12.5 million last year. The deal closed on November 5, 2020, and was recorded on November 18, 2020. The owner representative on the filing was Sebastian Mendez, Tankhouse founder.

The plans call for the construction of a 130-foot tall, 13-story residential building.

The project is described in the filings as: construction of new 13-story residential building.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have several recreation spaces and a residential lobby. Floors two through seven will each have three dwelling units per floor, floors eight, nine, and 11 will each have two dwelling units per floor, while floors 10, 12, and 13 will each have one dwelling unit per floor.

Kane Architecture and Urban Design is listed as the architect.

Reports around the time of purchase stated it was not clear whether the development, which the developer released preliminary sketches of, would be a rental or a condo.

The developer aims to complete the project in 2022.
