Samir Patel, on January 13, was given a permit for construction of a 66-key, 17,000-square-foot hotel building at 1755 Pitkin Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
The plans, pre-filed on July 24, 2019, call for the construction of a 74-foot tall, seven-story hotel.
The project is described in the filings as: proposed a seven-story with cellar commercial building for hotel use.
The building’s cellar will have five rooms, storage space, and laundry, per the plans filed. The ground floor will have five rooms, an office, lobby, and breakfast room. Floors two and three will each have 10 rooms per floor, while floors four through seven will each have nine rooms per floor.
Shiming Tam of S M Tam Architect will be in charge of the design.
The single-story building that previously occupied the property was demolished in September of 2020.
The property was acquired for $2.7 million on December 18, 2019.
Clarification: This project was originally reported to have been permitted on December 29, 2020. The DOB has since changed the date to reflect January 13.
