Success Academy files plans for 302K sf school in Concourse

Success Academy Charter Schools, on March 31, filed a permit application for construction of a 302,032-square-foot school building at 101 East 150th Street in Concourse, Bronx. Richard Gladstone filed the plans.

The charter school purchased the property for $105 million from MADDD Equities earlier this year.

These are the second new building plans filed in the neighborhood in the previous 12 months.

The plans call for the construction of a 127-foot-tall, six-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00706080. The development site spans one tax lot.

The project is described in the filing as: herewith filing for 300,000-plus-square-foot new school building.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have classrooms, lecture halls, and a gym. The second floor will have a cafeteria, conference rooms, classrooms, and a terrace. The third floor will have classrooms. The fourth floor will have a cafeteria, nurse’s suite, and classrooms. The fifth floor will have classrooms, a dance studio, terraces, and cafeteria. The sixth floor will have classroom space.

The architect listed is Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP.

The property was acquired for $105 million on December 29, 2021.
