DBI Projects files plans for 150K sf school in Mott Haven

DBI Projects, on April 1, filed a permit application for construction of a 150,000-square-foot school building at 75 Canal Street West in Mott Haven, Bronx. Ahkilah Johnson filed the plans.

The estimated job cost is listed at $117 million.

Last year the developer filed a permit application for construction of a 94,917-square-foot school building at 2720 Jerome Avenue in Riverdale.

The plans call for the construction of a 70-foot-tall, seven-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00658182. The development site spans one tax lot.

The project is described in the filing as: construct new seven-story school building as per plans filed.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby and gym. The second floor will have offices, a weight room, and a health center. The third floor will have a cafeteria, learning center, classroom space, a library, and offices. Floors four through seven will have office and classroom space. The roof will have a recreation field.

The architect listed is Perkins Eastman Architects.

The property was acquired for $21.7 million on May 27, 2021.
