St. James Church files plans for a 102-unit mixed-use building in Fordham
St. James’ Episcopal Church and Parish House, on July 9, filed a permit application for construction of a 102-unit, 89,337-square-foot mixed-use building at 2520 Jerome Avenue in Fordham.
The plans call for the construction of a 96-foot tall, nine-story, mixed-use building.
The project is described in the filings as: construct new nine-story building per plans filed herewith.
The ground floor of the building will have a community center lobby, community center fellowship hall, office space, a library, lobby, storage, a kitchen and servery, fitness room, and recreation room, according to the plans. The second floor will have office space, storage, a lounge, outdoor recreation space, and 10 dwelling units. Floors three through five will each have 14 dwelling units, floors six and seven will each have 13 dwelling units, and floors eight and nine will each have 12 units. The roof will provide additional recreation space.
In total, the development will have 73,233-square-feet of residential space and 21,146-square-feet for community facility space. The units will most likely be rentals based on the average unit size of 717 square feet.
Dattner Architects is listed as the architect on the application.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet.
