Solow Realty and Development files plans for a $16M rehab at the Solow Building in Plaza District
Solow Realty and Development, on January 7, filed plans for a $16 million rehabilitation of two floors of the Solow Building at 9 West 57th Street in Plaza District, Manhattan. Anthony Calicchio, senior VP of real estate development, construction and building operations at Solow Realty and Development, filed the plans. Solow Realty and the Solow Building Company are affiliates of the Soloviev Group.
Sheldon H. Solow, the real estate mogul who led the firm when the 1.6 million square foot tower was constructed, died in November of 2020 at the age of 92.
The plans call for work on the cellar and ground floor of the 688-foot-tall, 50-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00646913.
The project is described in the filing as: general construction taking place at cellar, sub-cellar, and first floor as per plans filed herewith. No change in use, egress, or occupancy.
The architect listed is Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP.
