Phipps Houses permitted for 279-unit resi building in West Farms

Phipps Houses, on January 6, received a permit for construction of a 279-unit, 320,948-square-foot residential building at 2082 Boston Road in West Farms. Matthew Kelly, vice president with Phipps Houses, filed the plans.

Phipps recently filed a permit application for construction of a 436-unit, 408,695-square-foot mixed-use building at 254 Euclid Avenue in Cypress Hills.

In October of 2020 the developer filed demolition plans for a six-story building with 169 residential units at the site.

The plans, pre-filed on February 25, 2020, call for the construction of a 166-foot tall, 16-story residential building.

Yimby reported at the time of the new building plans that the Boston Tremont Housing Development Fund Corporation was part of the development team.

The plans are described in the filing as: construct new 16-story residential building as per plans filed.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a residential lobby, a fitness room, offices, tot play area, and 10 dwelling units. The remaining dwelling units span the upper floors of the building.

The new building will be designed by Dattner Architects.

The property was acquired for $10.5 million on December 22, 2021.
