SL Green files plans for 178K sf Pace University building in FiDi

SL Green Realty, on June 17, filed a permit application for construction of a 178,299-square-foot building at 15 Beekman Street in Financial District.

The plans call for the construction of a 338-foot tall, 27-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: herewith filing new 27-story building (Pace Academic Center and Dormitory).

The cellar of the proposed building will have a cafeteria and bicycle room, per the plans filed. The ground floor will provide an additional cafeteria along with a lobby and mail room. The second floor will have a smaller cafeteria, while floors three through seven will be used as a library. Floors eight through 11 will be used for classrooms, and floors 13 through 23 as well as the 25th floors will be used for dormitory units. The 24th floor will have a dining room, kitchen, lounge, classrooms, gym, terrace and offices.

Leyva Ismael Architect PC is the architect on the application.

The property was acquired for $30 million on January 31, 2020.

Pace University signed a 30-year lease for an undisclosed price to occupy the entire building back in March. SL Green has built buildings for Pace University in the past, at 33 Beekman Street in 2015 and 180 Broadway in 2013.
