SJP Properties files $2M project to convert from garage, retail to eating, drinking in Times Square
SJP Properties, on August 13, filed a permit application for a $2 million project to open an eating and drinking establishment in a 286,260-square-foot building at 750 Eighth Avenue in Times Square.
The plans call for no change in size but a change in use of parts of the sub-cellar, cellar, and ground floor of the 496-foot tall, 43-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: change of use from parking garage to an eating or drinking establishment with general construction and storefront work as per plan. Temporary construction fence filed under m00353070. All associated trades filed separately. Fire alarm filed at FDNY. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,000,000.
A parking garage in the sub-cellar and cellar will be converted to the eating and drinking establishment, according to the plans. A retail store in the ground floor will also be converted to make space for the new eating and drinking establishment.
The architect listed is Sarah Carpenter.
The condo building, which was the first development project in New York City to employ floating air rights within the theatre district of Manhattan, was completed in 2008.
