Shimon Kleinman files plans for six-story expansion of Bed-Stuy building
Shimon Kleinman, on May 16, filed a permit application for a six-story enlargement of a 13,873-square-foot commercial building at 16 Spencer Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
The plans call for the increase in size of the building from a 14-foot tall, one-story building to a 60-foot tall, seven-story building, and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under number B00522931. The development site spans one tax lot.
The project is described in the filing as: proposing vertical enlargement to an existing one-story building. Converting to seven-story mixed-use building.
According to the plans, floors one and two, along with the cellar, will be used as a house of worship. The third floor will have one dwelling unit. Floors four and five will be used for office space. Floors six and seven will be used for a health care facility.
Nikolai Katz Architect is listed as the architect.
According to city records, the entity LA Equities LLC has owned the property since early 2000.
