Mosque files plans to convert six-unit shelter to house of worship in East Village

Shahed Ahmed, on June 29, filed plans for a project to convert a six-unit shelter to a house of worship building at 401 East 11th Street in East Village, Manhattan. The Islamic Council of America owns the building.

The plans call for a project to convert the building from a 51-foot tall, five-story building with six dwelling units to a 51-foot tall, five-story religious building. This was filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00702465.

The project is described in the filing as: construct vertical enlargement.

Per the plans, all floors of the building will be converted to a house of worship. One dwelling unit will remain on the fifth floor.
