Rudin finishes $18.1M multi-floor rehab of office building in Plaza District
Rudin Management, on November 16, formally completed an $18.1 million rehabilitation of several floors of an office building at 641 Lexington Avenue in the Plaza District.
The plans, pre-filed on January 30, 2019, call for a rehab of floors two through six and eight of the 405-foot tall, 32-story, building. Owner representative on the filing was Stephen Rankel of Rudin.
The project is described in the filings as: application filed for interior non-structural demolition and general construction at floors two through six and eight as shown on plans filed herewith. Extend existing convenience stair from fifth to sixth floor as shown. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $18,075,000.00.
The Switzer Group was responsible for the rehab.
No rehab plans have been filed at the building since October of 2019.
The building, which was designed by Emery Roth & Sons, originally opened in 1964.
Several Homes and Community Renewal agencies, including Office of Legal Affairs and Office of Housing Preservation, are located in the building.
