Rudin finishes $46M renovation of a residential building in Lenox Hill
Rudin Management, on July 7, completed a $46 million renovation of its residential building at 211 East 70th Street in Lenox Hill, according the records with the city’s Department of Buildings.
The plans, pre-filed on January 17, 2017, called for a renovation of the penthouse, roof, and floors two through 34 of the 362-foot tall, 35-story, building. The plans were permitted on April 5, 2017.
The project is described in the filings as: re-cladding scope of the facade, railing work on the roof and the roof membrane re-coat, Installation and paver work. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $46 million.
The building which opened in 1976, was built by the Rudin family and designed by Emery Roth & Sons.

Rudin has been actively renovating the building over the last few years. On December 19, 2017, the firm filed plans for a $17.6 million rehab of space outside the building. The most recent project was filed in July of 2019, calling for a $30K rehab of two apartment units on the seventh floor.
