Roman Catholic church fully permitted for $8.5M exterior rehab in Bed-Stuy

St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, on December 15, was given a permit for an $8.5 million external rehabilitation of its church at 333 Hart Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The plans, pre-filed on March 24, 2020, call for a rehab of the roof and facade of the 84-foot tall, two-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: exterior repairs to include replacement of cornices, roofs and cutting and pointing stone. No change in use, occupancy or egress under this application. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $8,461,470.

Zaskorski Architects is the architect.

No plans have been filed since the March rehab plans discussed here.
