Rockefeller Group files plans for $18M of work on three floors at former Time-Life Building
Rockefeller Group, on June 8, filed a permit application for a $17.8 million change in use of parts of three floors of a 1,962,900-square-foot office building at 1271 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown West.
The plans call for no change in size but a change in use of floors 43, 46, and 47 of the 574-foot tall, 47-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: Alteration 1 (A1) filed to establish places of assembly on floors 43 and 47. Removal and installation of interior non-bearing partitions and related finishes as per plans filed herewith. Energy analysis filed under DOB number 140899080. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $17,820,627.
The work on the 43rd floor will establish a cafeteria, kitchen, and servery. A conference room that can be occupied by 128 individuals will be constructed on the 46th floor while private dining rooms and a bakery will be removed. Some offices, a catering and banquet hall, a butcher shop, and kitchen will be removed from the 47th floor and replaced with conference rooms for 97 individuals, a pantry, and a meeting hall for 173 individuals.
The work will be done by Perkins and Will.
Rockefeller has been actively working on the office building over the first half of 2020. On March 17, the firm filed plans for a $13M interior build-out on floors 34 and 36 through 38 of the building. On May 7, the firm filed plans for a $21.1 million rehab of several floors of the building.
