Rockefeller Foundation files plans for $5.8M fit-out of their global headquarters at 420 Fifth Avenue
The Rockefeller Foundation, on October 18, filed plans for a $5.8M rehab of a building at 420 Fifth Avenue in Garment District, Manhattan.
The Rockefeller Foundation owns five floors in the building. They occupied the space in the early 1990s, before exercising an option to buy the floors by paying the remaining bond obligations of $30 million, according to the Real Deal.
There have been multiple significant alteration projects filed at the building recently. On September 27, plans were filed for a $20.5 million project to change office space on two high floors to a cafeteria and mechanical space. Another plan called for a $7.2 million project to convert retail space to office space on two floors at the office condominium building.
These plans call for work on floors 19 through 23 of the building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00576139.
The project is described in the filing as: RF headquarters 19-23 fit-out – mechanical modifications according to plans filed herewith. No change to use, egress or occupancy.
