Rockefeller Foundation files plans for $20.5M in alterations at 420 Fifth Avenue
The Rockefeller Foundation, on September 27, filed plans for a $20.5 million project which will change office space on two high floors to a cafeteria and mechanical space at 420 Fifth Avenue in the Garment District, Manhattan.
The Rockefeller Foundation owns five floors in the building. They occupied the space in the early 1990s, before exercising an option to buy the floors by paying the remaining bond obligations of $30 million, according to the Real Deal.
These are the second significant alteration plans filed at the building this year. The first plans called for a $7.2 million project to convert retail space to office space on two floors at the office condominium building.
The plans call for work on floors 22 and 23 of the 393-foot tall, 30-story building. This was filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00591377.
The project is described in the filing as: Herewith filing to amend the certificate of occupancy on 22nd and 23rd floors as per plans.
The architect listed is Studios Architecture.
