Rockefeller files demo for 119K sf Flushing parking lot with no NB plans
Rockefeller Group, on August 27, filed a permit application for the demolition of a 119,985-square-foot elevated parking lot at 37-01 138th Street in Flushing, Queens.
These are the 48th demolition plans filed in Flushing so far this year, in what has been the most active neighborhood for new development in the borough in 2021.
In October of 2013, the developer filed new building plans calling for the construction of a 197-foot tall, 17-story, 404,480-square-foot mixed-use office building with 148 dwelling units at 138-35 39th Avenue.
The developer was issued a TCO for the project in April of 2016. The building occupies a lot that was created after the developer filed plans to subdivide the lot which is currently occupied by the parking structure into two lots.
The developer did not immediately respond to a request for comment on what they plan to do once the parking structure is demolished.
The plans call for the demolition of a single-story structure.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of one story parking lot, using hand held and mechanical means to assist.
The property was acquired for $20 million on December 30, 2013.
