Rivington Company files demo plans at Bushwick site with plans for 50-unit resi building

Rivington Company, on June 8, filed a permit application for the demolition of a building at 21 Garden Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

The plans call for the demolition of a two-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of two-story building.

On July 24 of last year, the developer filed a permit application for construction of a 50-unit, 46,015-square-foot residential building at the site.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building would have three dwelling units and a gym. Floors two through six would each have seven dwelling units per floord, while the seventh and eighth floors would each have six dwelling units.

Those plans have been disapproved, however, and it is unclear how the developer plans to proceed. The demolition plans do indicate that Rivington still intends to move forward with a ground up development.

The property was acquired for $5.5 million on February 11, 2020.
