Related, Hudson receive TCO following construction of 341-unit Riverwalk 8
Related Companies and Hudson Companies, on July 21, were issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 341-unit, 239,601-square-foot residential building, known as Riverwalk 8, at 460 Main Street in Roosevelt Island.
The plans, pre-filed on July 14, 2017, by Monadnock Construction, call for the construction of a 197-foot tall, 21-story, residential building. The time from pre-file to TCO was three years. The development team, in partnership with Monadnock Construction, announced they would also oversee renovation of Firefighters Field on Roosevelt Island, which includes a field relocation, the installation of park lighting and the construction of a new neighborhood comfort station.
The project is described in the filings as: construct 21-story new building as per plans filed.
The cellar of the building has storage space, a fitness room, locker rooms, lounge rooms, and offices, according to the plans filed. The ground floor has a residential lobby, mail room, and 11 units. Floors two through 11 each have 17 units, while floors 12 through 21 each have 16 units.
The development is the eighth building within Roosevelt Island’s Riverwalk rental complex. The joint venture wrapped up construction of Riverwalk 7, a 200,000-square foot rental tower with 266-units, in 2018.
Handel Architects was responsible for both developments.
In total, the Riverwalk Complex will have nine rental buildings. Prior buildings in the complex are referred to as Riverwalk Place, Riverwalk Court and Riverwalk Crossing.
