Brookfield files plans for $3.2M single-floor rehab at Five Manhattan West
Brookfield Properties, on July 23, filed a permit application for a $3.2 million rehabilitation of one floor of an office building at 450 West 33rd Street, known as Five Manhattan West, in Hudson Yards.
The plans call for a rehab of the second floor of the 240-foot tall, 15-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: interior renovation to include demo of existing and construction of new partitions and finishes as shown on plans. No change in use, egress or occupancy under this application. (Phase 3) The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $3,200,000.
On July 24, Brookfield filed a permit application for an additional $217,600 rehab of the second floor. The smaller project was described as: structural work as shown on plans filed herewith. (Phase 3 – Casa Dina, Katsuya + patio) The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $217,600.
Casa Dina and Katsuya are two of the restaurants that will occupy Citizens, a 40,000-square-foot eating and drinking space coming to the Manhattan West complex. It is slated to open sometime around October of this year.
These are the 10th and 11th plans filed by Brookfield at Five Manhattan West so far this year. All of the projects have been relatively small, none have covered a space larger than two floors plus the mezzanine.
