Radson Development permitted for 160-unit mixed-use building in East New York

Daniel Rad’s Radson Development, on May 18, was given a permit for construction of a 160-unit, 175,701-square-foot mixed-use building at 573 Emerald Street in East New York.

The permit issued was a new building permit, the developer received foundation permits in February.

The plans, pre-filed on January 29, 2019, call for the construction of a 85-foot tall, eight-story mixed-use building.

The project is described in the filings as: new eight-story mixed-use dwelling.

The ground floor of the building will have a lobby, recreation area, offices, parking for 62 cars, and three dwelling units. The second floor will have offices, multiple outdoor areas, a community room, play room, laundry room, and 20 dwelling units. Floors three through five will each have 24 dwelling units per floor, and floors six through eight will each have 21 dwelling units per floor.

Magnusson Architecture and Planning, PC is listed as the architect.

The Real Deal reported the building will likely be an affordable housing project.

No demolition plans have been filed, the lot is currently vacant.

In January, the developer signed a loan agreement with lender New York City Housing Development Corporation valued at $65.7 million for the development.

The property was acquired for $6.2 million on April 20, 2016.
