Quinlan Development Group files plans for demo at Gowanus site with no NB plans

Quinlan Development Group, on July 28, filed a permit application for the demolition of a building at 374 4th Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Timothy Quinlan, a principal at the firm, filed the plans.

According to city records the parcel is owned by Susan Maintenance Corp., a taxi garage and service center, who acquired it for $7 million on January 3, 2012. However, Quinlan Development Group recently entered into contract to buy the industrial site for an unspecified price.

The plans call for the demolition of a one-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of one-story structure.

No new building plans have been filed at the site yet. A recent analysis from PincusCo found Gowanus to be among the least active neighborhoods in Brooklyn for new development. However, a highly contentious plan to rezone the neighborhood, which has been in the works for more than a decade now, could lead to new development.
