Renaissance Realty files $3.1M plans to add 10 units to Smithsonian in Central Harlem

Renaissance Realty Group, on July 28, filed plans for a $3.1 million project to add 10 residential units to a building known as The Smithsonian at 60 West 129th Street in Central Harlem, Manhattan.

The plans call for an increase in dwelling units from 45 to 55. This was filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00560527.

The project is described in the filing as: Interior alteration to residential units on floors one through seven. Community facility space on first floor, construction of bicycle storages and common building recreation space in cellar and first floor. New sustainable roof, replacement of stringers (which is the support under each stair board) at existing stairs, additional fire escapes.

According to the plans, floors two through seven each have six dwelling units currently, the plans aim to increase the number of units to nine per floor.
