Public Storage permitted for construction of 156K sf storage building in LIC

Public Storage, on August 24, was given a plumbing permit (PL) in relation to the construction of a 156,895-square-foot storage building at 31-28 Northern Boulevard in Long Island City. The developer received its initial construction permits in June.

The plans, pre-filed on February 19, 2019, call for the construction of a 135-foot tall, 12-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed construction of 12-story storage facility with cellar.

According to the plans filed, the basement and all 12 floors of the building will be used for commercial storage facility purposes. The building will also have space for the parking of six vehicles and loading of three vehicles.

Highpoint Engineering is the architect listed.
