Prologis, on January 19, was given a permit for a $6.5 million project which will renovate and change the use of a 128,500-square-foot warehouse for tenant City Harvest at 150 52nd Street in Sunset Park.
The plans, pre-filed on March 12, 2020, call for no change in size but a change in use of the 25-foot tall, two-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: alteration 1 filed for change of use on the first and second floors from manufacturing to commercial use. Work will include the construction and installation of new partitions, doors, finishes, ceiling and light fixtures. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,537,053.
Per the plans, part of the ground floor of the warehouse will be converted to office space, a lounge, and fitness area. The second floor will be converted to storage space, a break room, kitchens, food donation re-packing space, event space, offices, and conference rooms.
Ware Malcomb is listed as the architect on the filing.
City Harvest is a nonprofit organization which delivers food to pantries, soup kitchens and other facilities throughout New York City. The organization inked a lease for the entire building in January of last year. According to reports, the asking price was between $24 and $32 per square foot.
Prologis acquired the property for $40.5 million on January 15, 2020, from Dov Hertz’s DH Property Holdings.
