Poppenhusen Institute files plans for $6.3M exterior rehab in College Point
Poppenhusen Institute, on January 3, filed plans for a $6.3 million exterior rehabilitation of a building at 114-04 14th Road in College Point, Queens.
The Poppenhusen Institute, built in 1868, housed the first free kindergarten in the United States which opened its doors in 1870. The building has since been designated a Landmark through the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
These are the first plans filed at the building since 2015.
The plans call for a rehab of the 36-foot-tall, four-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number Q00556696.
The project is described in the filing as: filing for facade repair which will include window replacement, window sill replacement and localized masonry restoration.
The architect listed is CA Architects P.C.
