Plans filed for five-story, 14-unit expansion on top of existing garage in Mott Haven

Steve Zervoudis’ Galaxy General Contracting Corp., on September 23, filed plans for a $1.5 million project to construct a 14-unit residential building on top of an existing garage at 289 East 139th Street in Mott Haven, the Bronx. The final development will be 16,283-square-feet.

The plans call for an increase in the size of the building from a 15-foot tall, one-story garage to a 55-foot tall, five-story building with 14 dwelling units. This was filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00539958.

The project is described in the filing as: five-story residential steel structure extension on top of an existing one-story garage.

Per the plans, the ground floor will have parking for seven cars and a lobby. Floors two through four will each have four dwelling units per floor. The fifth floor will have two dwelling units and multiple recreation areas.

The architect listed is OCV Architects.

The property was acquired for $1.6 million on March 15, 2018.
