Plans filed for 44K sf community building in Carnegie Hill

Redeemer Presbyterian Church, on July 20, filed a permit application for construction of a 44,918-square-foot community building at 150 East 91st Street in Carnegie Hill, Manhattan. Brian Stanton of Redeemer filed the plans.

The church acquired the property from GPG Properties for $29.5 million in August of 2020.

The plans call for the construction of a 181-foot-tall, 12-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00553463. The development site spans one tax lot.

The project is described in the filing as: Hub consultation was on 4/9/21. Construction of 12-story new building.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lounge area. The second floor will be used for a sanctuary. The third floor will have a reception space and a sanctuary balcony. The fourth, fifth, and sixth floors will have classroom space. Floors seven through nine will be occupied by a non-profit institution with sleeping accommodations. The 10th floor will have a fellowship hall and the 11th floor will have a kitchen and terrace. The 12th floor will house a generator and mechanical equipment.

Nearby, this past December, Adellco was given a permit for a $7.9 million project to convert a 60,540-square-foot, 90-unit hotel at 1295 Madison Avenue in the neighborhood to a 21-unit condominium.
