Philips International permitted to add 8K sf of retail to Astoria building
Philips International, on August 20, was given a permit for a $550,000 project to add 8,000 square feet of retail space to an 80,266-square-foot retail building at 34-60 48th Street in Astoria.
The plans, pre-filed on August 30, 2018, call for an outdoor storage space to be converted to approximately 8,000-square-feet of retail space.
The project is described in the filings as: filed herewith plans and applications for an alteration type I to convert existing outdoor storage space to additional enclosed retail space, approximately 8,000 square feet and obtain new certificate of occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $550,000.
The building is part of the Plaza 48 mall. Last month it was announced that BJ’s Wholesale Club would be opening a location in the complex.
