Peter Persaud files plans for 47-key hotel in Richmond Hill

Peter Persaud under P.O.P Realty Corp., on January 6, filed a permit application for construction of a 47-key, 15,259-square-foot hotel building at 135-02 Liberty Avenue in Richmond Hill. The plan’s Schedule A states the building will have 51 rooms.

The plans call for the construction of a 50-foot-tall, five-story hotel.

The project is described in the filings as: submitting complete set of NB plans for a transient hotel.

Per the plans, floors one and two will each have 11 rooms, floors three and four will each have 12 rooms, and the fifth floor will have five rooms. The building will also have a hotel lobby.

Southern Consulting Engineering is listed as the architect.

Demolition plans were pre-filed on March 9, 2020. The plans call for a demolition of the two-story building occupying the property.

The developer filed plans calling for a similar building in November of 2019. However, those plans were withdrawn prior to the new application being filed.

The property was acquired for $1.9 million on April 21, 2005.
