The New York City Housing Authority, on June 25, was given a permit for construction of a 201-unit, 136,017-square-foot residential building at 1001 Thieriot Avenue in Soundview, the Bronx.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed 16-story new building for senior housing.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a residential lobby, community facility, laundry, and office. The second floor will have a lounge and 14 dwelling units. Floors three through seven will each have lounges and 15 dwelling units per floor. Floors eight through 15 will each have lounges and 14 dwelling units per floor. The 16th floor will have an exercise room, lounge, terrace, and four dwelling units.
