Pace University finishes $6.9M ground floor rehab of FiDi building

Pace University, on August 26, completed a $6.9 million rehabilitation of one floor and the basement of its flagship building complex at One Pace Plaza, at 1 Pace Plaza in Financial District.

The plans, pre-filed on April 3, 2017, call for a rehab of the basement and ground floor of the 250-foot tall, 18-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: removal of interior non-load-bearing partitions, installation of new partitions, ceiling finishes, floor finishes, door and windows, installation of new convenience stair from basement to first floor, installation of new curtain wall and replacement of a small portion of masonry veneer in conjunction with application#122519042. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,865,342.

The architect listed on the filing is FXCollaborative also known as FXFowle Architects.

1 Pace Plaza was built in 1969 as part of the 1964 Brooklyn Bridge Southwest Urban Renewal Plan. A 1983 renovation added three stories to the building, which has varies uses ranging from housing students to classrooms.

The most recent plans at the building were filed in March.

In June, SL Green filed plans for a 178,299-square-foot building which Pace University had signed a 30-year lease for.
